Im currently debating whether to go turbo or not. I turboed my honda and loved it but ended up selling it one of the reasons for selling it was insurance complications. How have you turbo guys insured your chimaeras then or have you kept hush hush and not declared it. If you have declared it how much did it jump up?
Many thanks

I went supercharger route, had to look around a lot but settled on Henderson Taylor. You always get to speak to the same person (Matthew) who is very helpful. They took into account I've had the car a very long time which gave them reassurance. Insurance went up about £100/year.

I'm in the process of doing this now. I've had to cancel my Mannings policy and go with Adrian Flux who were 40 pounds cheaper for a supercharged car and gave 2000 miles per annum over Mannings with all other variables (windscreen, excess, keys etc) being comparable. Mention being a PH member and you'll get a discount. Very accepting of modified cars.

I dont mean to be rude or nosey but could I ask your age? See im 27 with a 4l hc chimaera and a few naughty boy points and I found adrian flux much much more expensive than the company I went with which I think was bewiser.com.
Im guessing most would just stay hush hush, i know i did with my honda but if i did go turbo with the tvr then i would be above board this time.
I dont know why more people dont turbo the chimaeras, it looks from first glance a very easy car to do so on, the engine bay looks like its just laid out perfectly for one....... could be wrong though

I guess I have an advantage then, I'm an old git of 49 with a clean licence but of course all the same details applied to my Mannings policy. To be honest you wouldn't find many people on here who wouldn't declare mods, not worth the hassle in the long run. I'm going SC rather than turbo but if you search there is a wealth of information on here, it must be one of the most debated subjects.
