Hi,

I am long term lurker on this forum and after many years of dreaming, and a good period of saving I have finally bought myself a Chim. Got myself a '99 450 in what I believe the boys in blackpool called Cherry Red, with magnolia interior. Surfice to say I am loving it! It is everything I imagined TVR ownership would be, everytime I fire it up it's an event!

Got myself a list of bits to do some of which I knew about when I bought it, some I have 'discovered' since. I'll tackle some of jobs myself as I am a bit of a have a go hero on the spanners but I will leave some of the more involved stuff to the experts.

Thanks to all in this forum, having been watching from afar for the past few years definitely helped advise my purchase, and I now look forward to getting a bit more involved, and tapping in to some more of that expert knowledge!

Ben.

Hey Ben I see your in Warwickshire, Chimaeras are becoming very common now in the area, I myself am near Daventry but I know of several in the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire/Northmptonshire borders.

Thanks for the welcomes! I have seen a couple around in Warwickshire yep, and been along to one of the TVRCC meets at Meriden too.

I think It is Cherry Red Pearlescent yeah, that's what the 'PG43B' paint code would indicate, although it is not very pearlescent, so not sure if it has had a respray at some point! Will have to compare with some others at various meets I be getting along to.

I'll have a go at uploading some photos.....there not the best, not a glamorous location outside the garage and it needs a wash after the weekends run outs...

Welcome to Chim ownership.
Lovely hood and paint combination. Mine's in the spray shop at the
moment - wonder if it's too late to change the colour! scratchchin

I'm just over the border in Gloucestershire and there's plenty of
other owners nearby.

Good luck and have fun!

Dave,
I am not a fan of the hood colour to be honest and changing it for a black one is one of the things on the 'to do' list! Might see you out and about over Gloucestershire way, plan on a few blast round that way, some good roads.

Not sure the paint work has faded, it doesn't look like it, but suppose it could have lost some of it's pearlescentness (?!) over the years.
