Linkage version of wiper system on later Chimaeras

Calling all later Chimaera owners...

Does anyone have a Chimaera (or know of one) that has got a linkage type windscreen wiper system.

I contacted a specialist wiper company (not sure I should say who) to ask about a replacement for the Lucas system (mine had died, not happy to pay over £200 for a motor when SVC sell a complete system for less than £150).

This company told me that they did design a system for the Chimaera and have sent me the drawings to review (dated Sept '98)

This is a linkage system that provides the same arc of operation for the driver and slightly less for the passenger (but then it's probably not a bad idea for the passenger to not be able to see when driving the Chimp in the rain...) BUT (and here is the possible bummer) the motor is mounted to the pedal box...

I'm interested to know if any Chimaera were actually made with this wiper system and if so can we have some photos.


I'm going to go and have a look to see how the wiper motor could be mounted on the pedal box (got a mate with a welder....) but more difficult would be how to get the link arm from the wipers to the motor. Not sure if there is a straight line of approach or if I'll have to start cutting through gpr...

I have the wing mounted motor, but do know of one with this wiper arrangement etc.

I may be seeing him over the weekend, if so I could probably take some pics unless someone else can do so in the meantime.
