Hi All

I know this has been covered a number of times, howver I'm sturggling to find a definate answer...

Will this work with the standard gauge?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oil-Pressure-5-bar-Sende...

I presume the resistance is key to whether it will just work or be accurate?

Cheers

Liam

Thanks Phazed.

How long are they, I've moved the oil pressure sender to one of the old blanks on the side of the cover, so need to make sure they're not too long.

Cheers

What is the cover ? the reason i ask is because i can`t decide if the leave the oil pressure sender in place and fit the oil temperature sender just above the oil filter where the blank is fitted .

Or the other way round with the pressure sender fitted side ways on above the oil filter ,just purchased the reducing bush to replace the bung .

Hi Peter, that looks like the one I recommended to you when I responded to your email last week.

I wasn't sure if you got my response as you didn't acknowledge my email, not to worry, hope it does the trick mate.

To my knowledge there's one other person on here who's already tried this sender after I originally posted the link, if I remember correctly the feedback was it did just fit even though it's quite a bit longer than the standard sender.

I believe the readings it gave were very realistic too, something like 55psi hot running with a 45psi hot idle which is probaly as close to reality as you'll ever get from this type of sender & the TVR electric gauge.

Lets us all know how you get on with it Peter.

Best regards, Dave.

Joining in from my own thread, those look like my pressure sender but mine has two posts, one has a terminal on but the other has as spade male but no wire and no loose wires anywhere. Beginning to thin someone at sometime may swopped the sender??

That's the one I have
65 start
55 hot running
20 tickover hot

Made this up to put a mechanical test gauge and the sender at the same time to see how good the readings are
Haven't had time yet

I've got the cheapo ebay sender that ChimpOnGas originally recommended a couple of years ago. It's still going strong after at least two years, and reads about 55 psi cold, 45-50 psi hot > 2000 rpm, 30-35 psi hot idle. These seem like reasonable readings, and as is often said it's more important to get used to whatever your gauge normally says and look for any departure from the norm, rather than worrying about whether your reading is realistic. Consistency is therefore important in a sender.
