Fuel pump fuse
Discussion
I'm not sure what your symptoms are, but if they are intermittent it could well be the fuel pump relay - 1 of the 2 small metal cubes in the passenger footwell attached to ECU, the other is identical in appearance and controls the immobiliser I believe). When it begins to fail they can get really hot and close the circuit (really scary because the whole car goes dead including power steering which is not great when powering down a busy motorway slip road at night!) My relay failed 4 times on my way home, it would work for a few minutes once it cooled down. If replacing them make sure you get the original bosch ones from a reputable dealer as the cheaper ones will drain your battery dead when parked up.
Because the ecu switches the pump on/off 'at will' when testing you need to check resistance from the fuel pump relay output pin (or put +12v on it by jumping across the relay ~ but that can create its own risks of course ~ it can be the way to make the pump run continuously as an emergency measure if the relay / ecu fails).
Just hope its a bad connection at the fuel pump or faulty pump as the wiring down the door sill is one of the real nightmares (stuck in with expanding foam!).
Its also worth testing the ecu is switching the fuel pump relay with a test bulb across the relay pins (should light for a moment as you switch the ignition on ~ the prime ~ but then off until the engine runs) many have made false assumptions testing because the ecu is switching the circuit on/off momentarily as the ignition is switched.

Yep I had this once on a Bank Holiday Sunday in France !!!!!
Low car - grassy field = loose spade connector. When i changed the fuel pump I chose one with a screw fitting - never come loose since. They do sit too low for my liking compared to say a Cerb especially as my car is lowered slightly anyway on its springs its very near road surface.
