My reply involves one of those words smile

Daz, just use a multimeter on resistance, if you test from the wire to the cabin ground it should go from infinity to 0 if it's a ground wire

Daz, be grateful you haven't got a 70s TVR - all the wires are black!

Are you getting the oil temp where the clock is/was? If so, use the clock earth. Obviously, don"t use the permanent live from the clock though for the other wires smile

Disconnect the battery to charge it, the alarm will only get pissed if you try to bring it back up while it's connected.

Got it all working ,ran the engine until the fans kicked in the oil temp is only 65 ,is that about right ?or should it be around the same as the water temperature?

tumbleweed

Iv`e had an on going problem with the speedo, everything works fine until 60mph then it goes off the scale. The sender has been replaced and adjusted several times .

Someone mentioned A black box which converts the signal,i do not need the box because of the after market ECU.

Anyone bypassed it ?

You'll never get the oil temp to the same reading as the water just by running the car in the garage, oil takes far longer to get up to decent temp.

That`s all up and running ,I took my time ,used heat shrink and insulated sleeve .

I just thought it might be worth tackling the speedo problem which is annoying . 70mph on the tom tom is 90 on the clock .
