Morning chaps, I've replaced lots of nuts and bolts for new.
I really like the clean metal look, what's the best product to cover them to protect against rust. Grease has that murky light brown colour!
Is there a clear grease similar to the colour of Vaseline available!
My idea is to smear something around them then every few months wipe the road crust off and apply again.
In fact would Vaseline do the job!!!
I will be cleaning them regularly, a bit like my nuts.
Any ideas boys. Thanks Al

WD40, that's what it's designed for. The problem is that nothing that I can think of will work on hot nuts yikes

Water Displacement formula 40 biggrin

That's why it's crap at lubrication, it's designed to be a preventative measure not a release fluid. The only downside I can think of for using it to keep things pretty is that dust will probably stick to it, how about using car wax/polish? You would probably have to do it once a month and it would burn off of the hot bits but would work on cold/warm parts.

Formula 40 I'll see what I can find. The dust is ok and it's going to get dirty so if I wipe down and re apply it should do the job nicely. Thanks mate.

ACF looks like the stuff to use but GT85, anything that's been used on bikes gets my vote, lol

Alternatively you could use Stainless nuts and bolts or where stainless bolts are not adviseable (wishbone pivots etc) cover bolt heads with thesescratchchin
