Thought i'd say Hi, as i'm new to PH and TVR ownership.

Just bought myself a '96 Chimaera, had it about 3 weeks, very pleased, but now starting to tuck into all the little jobs you find need doing once you get passed the honeymoon period. Looking forward to getting some summer cruising in (if such a thing exists in Cornwall lol)

Cheers Mark,
yeah the Lupo headlights work well and seem bright enough at night, the cars in pretty good nick and had just under 69K on the clock. I have started finding things to do, i've already had the speakers (which dont work) out and greased the window runners as they were dismally slow going up. Then the battery died on the second week, took it out to find 2 dead cells and a silicon filled hole where one of the battery box bolts should be, so i've also re-fibreglassed the passenger floor at the battery mounting position and also glassed a replacement nut to the bottom of the battery box, which was also missing. I have now created a nice list of further things to do lol.
I also had to re-position the front flexi brake pipes as these were rubbing against part of the suspension, it failed mot on this and no number plate lights (had the mot tester scratching his head, until i Googled it lol) it had 5 months MOT on it, but for peace of mind i put it through a fresh one smile

Nice one Pinx. Good to see another one here in the west country. I also live over the border from you in Devon. Good luck with all your list of jobs. Bought mine last November. Still doing bits and pieces whilst keeping it on the road. Big jobs will be done after the summer. Enjoy.thumbup

Welcome on board Dave, definitely the best colour & light conversion. There's a huge range of choices to make in the improvement stakes, from leave it as it is to the full works, there's no right or wrong in my book (but I'm still a relative newbie) just do what feels right for you & try not to be tempted down a path without completely open eyes and do lots of home work. There's loads of good advice & help on here but pick what fits your circumstances & when budgeting - double it ! All that said I don't regret buying mine for a minute.

Welcome to the fold Pinx.
Nice looking example there. Love the Lupo upgrade. As others have said, this is one of the very few things I would be happy to change on the Chimaera.
Enjoy thumbup

Thanks for the lovely warm welcome people smile

Yes, it is a lovely colour, really pops in the sunlight and looks a completely different colour when cloudy ! Not sure on whether to do any mods or not, at the moment im enjoying it as it is and just sorting out any little problems i find. I Replaced the door speakers today, so they actually work now smile I'm going to do away with the tweeters as i think they are ugly, but will wait till i get all the carpets replaced first, as the holes and dent in the carpet where they've been fitted looks even ulglier with them removed frown
Going over a mates garage in a bit to borrow his pit so i can do an oil change on the gearbox. I gave it a good wash today and think i need to invest in a good quality indoor dust cover, as it does seem to get dusty quite quickly in the garage lol. Went out for a bit of a cruise today around St Austell and Newquay whilst the sun was out and it certainly gives a BIG grin factor, i really hope we have a good summer so i can make full use of it !

On another note, i'm thinking of joining the TVR ownwers club, is it worth it and are they a friendly bunch ?

Thanks again for all the nice comments, hope to see a few of the SW owners out and about in my travels smile

Hey ,
I'm down in padstow for a week staring the 6th June. Thinking of catching up with the Devon club as they have a meet on Monday 9th June. It's a 600 mile run from where I live so the Chim should get a good run.
