Due to one thing and another, Iv'e only just retaxed the chim today. Iv'e been wafting about in an old (2002) XK8 since last November, all very comfy and serene as you might expect.

What a shock to the system Trevor was this time around! Super heavy controls and an intense sense of my mortality. Yes I do have feet of clay after all. Good God almighty, how had I ever had the temerity to have taken this machine for granted? Was I utterly deranged? No doubt about that.

It is brutal, deceptive and capable if immense violence.

The funniest thing is, it's still standard. Some of you loonies have upped the ante, I only hope you drive something ordinary as a contrast so you appreciate it all the more!

It could be the gin talking, but I think you Tivvers are a breed apart, never lose faith.

A Waft to a Hoon. That's a system shock!

I feel very at home in the chim now, it's less of jolt now, than, for example going from a trannie van to a saloon is as from a saloon to a the tiv.

The one thing that does always get me is accelerator pedal travel, just when I am getting started all other cars seem to hit the floor wink
