Hey oh how ya'l been?

So I played with the tvr today and started taking bits off for engine camshaft a renewal but before I did I ran it up and revved it nicely...at the back there was a puddle of black oil crap and I was curious if this could mean something bigger in the engine needs to be replaced?

Thought I'd let ya know it got 160hp on dyno and 200ft tq

I think you've nothing to worry about regarding sooty water, TADTS.

As to the power.

If those figures were at the wheels then it is a little low.

If they're at the fly then they are very low!

At the fly wheel yes can you offer some suggestions? Piston rings?

You could do a compression test/leak down to check rings before you go to far, whats the milage on the cam it could well be knackered.

Standard 430 as 240bhp at the fly.
It can be several things.
Ignition system and timing
Fuel system

Is it a pre cat?

72k cam has never been changed by looks of it. But would it really reduce output of over 100hp and tq?

My Chim is a 430 with little modifications and 52000 mls on it and still 275 BHP

How is the idle and dus it run on all 8?

You have got a pre cat with Cats?

Mine does the sooty thing but goes very well. Thats not always a sign of anything bad. Your BHP figure is though. Its worth stripping things down to have a good look and not really that difficult.

Cams probably round on several lobes, hence the low power output.
