I've lost most of my pops and bangs
Discussion
I haven't driven the Chim for a few weeks due to Trumpetgate and holidays but since I last drove it I've changed 3 things on the car.
Fitted the trumpets correctly, a new fuel pressure regualtor and a new ignition module and now most of my pops and bangs have gone. I used to be able to get her to pop and bang on demand, slight throttle on the overrun and she'd be off.
No more. I've just been out for a quick spin and only one (minor) pop in an hours driving.
I guess this is a good thing really as it should mean the car is burning the fuel more effeciently so I'll either have more power (can't feel any) or less fuel being used (time will tell).

Perhaps you had an air leak before that has been fixed now. I don't know why it affects pops and bangs but a number of years ago in a Cerbera (again different engine I know but similar scenario) it started popping and banging an insane amount. The slightest lift of throttle or blip on overrun and it was off - much more than usual. I pulled over to check if I could see what was causing it and one of the air intake pipes had come off an intake (just one of the 8 mind). I put it back on and it went back to normal - quieter and popping and banging when it should not constantly.Fitted the trumpets correctly, a new fuel pressure regualtor and a new ignition module and now most of my pops and bangs have gone. So in my experience if air was being sucked in at/around intake due to a leak or crack (or in my case an intake hose coming off) it does produce far more pops and bangs.
I guess what I am saying is maybe you have fixed something and the engine is now running correctly.
I was trying hard today to get the pops and bangs and they are there but only above 4k revs.
I've also hooked it up to Rover Gauge and my long term trim has come down since the last time I took it (odd bank from -48% to -6% and even bank -45% to -24%) which must also be a good thing getting closer to zero. The short term trim seems to fluctuate less when driving as well.
