accelerator pedal

hi guys accelerator pedal movement is quite stiff every thing is okay at the plenum ,but the movement is very stiff at the pedal itself, can you grease the pedal at the pivot point in anyway or is this something else altogether?
Could be the cable itself, but they are all quite heavy. As a test, just try removing one of the two throttle return springs from by the plenum end and see if it helps? It could of course be the cable sticking.
Could be rust down the cable, If it doesn't bind get a cheap motor bike cable oiler, simple to use and push some wd40 down the inner cable, get someone to hold the the throttle pot open, you now have a loose cable, press the throttle, if it's still stiff it must be in the pedal box area that's causing the restriction.
Had the same issue, mine was so bad the engine would not idle correctly tried oil, grease etc nothing worked, found the inner metal cable had cut through the nylon outer and was wedging itself. I replaced the cable no more issues..
I did pump some thick grease into the end of the new one and left it to hang in the sun for until it dripped out the bottom to try and reduce the cutting effect, that was 4 years ago and no problems.. Fitting it was a real s**t, remember to tape the new to the old, so when you remove the old cable the new one follows through the body work, if not you are in for a real headache to try and thread the cable through.
