As tittle suggests, I've been told to avoid the cheap ones, I've also been told you can't get the original ones any more?
I've oiled mine, shook it to free it up, wound it in and out for ages but it still sticks every second day.
I've just had a fab result regards seat belts, thanks A900ss
Has anyone replaced their stepper motor recently, Does the replacement work ok, if so who did you get it from.
Many thanks Alun

Cheers yknott.
I has issues with two stepper motors on my old S2
I really don't like the things!
I'd go for an ecu change just to get rid of it.
Thanks for that.

All these re-manufactured parts are a bit of a lottery, however, so far, all the bits I have changed have not been a problem from the usual suppliers. How long they will last compared to the original Lucas items is another question?? scratchchin

Peter,At 6000 mile service intervals, they don't need to last long!
It's good to hear it's not all doom and gloom with the replacements.
Cheers.

I wouldn't expect to change stepper motors, TPS, and other sensors at 6000 mile intervals but maybe that's the way of it now?

On the positive side, if that really is their durability, I won't forget what I did the first time I changed 'em!!! smashwhistle

Peter you made a good point on another thread about the sensors being inaccurate due to age and heat.
I'll be buying a stepper ASAP.
I've changed all my sensors bar the oil pressure switch, ironically it's goosed!

They're available as low as £7.25 but I'm told these 'chinese' stepper motors don't respond as smoothly as the genuine ones, which are £100 +. It only has an impact while the engine is cold though really anyway.
