The old Chim made it!!! 1000 miles and not a hitch!! Been the most enjoyable road trip yet. We rocked up at Devonshire's TVR meet where we met some great guys. Now planning what route to take back up the road!

Hmmm, if it were me, I'd be thinking of some of those roads around (I believe) Snowdonia where a lot of the Top Gear stuff is filmed....

One of these days I want to get up around Ullapool and Applecross too...

If you have enough time I'd plan a route home that doesn't involve motorways or even many A roads.
1000 miles, ain't that a beaut.
How's your left foot, haha, I've been tinkering for ages but I've done some huge distances just bumbling along.
One wk end I think I drove for like 12 hours a day!

No route just go towards the sunny parts and on and on,
The best must have been in mid Wales just finding twisty roads and the sun on my face.
Pig in muck sort of thing.

I remember realising I was smiling once, that's never happened before!
When they work and your free there's not much to touch a good Chimeara.
Enjoy Chimshaw.

I went to Ullapool and Applecross on holiday 12 years ago - in terms of traffic volumes, it was just like driving in the Snowdonia in the 1960s - total bliss. And the A835 and A837 north of Ullapool were "interesting". Single track with passing places, and sheep with no sense of danger (unlike Welsh sheep - Wales, where men are men, and sheep are nervous).

Pleased, but why would you expect otherwise?
I did a 3.5k miles stint to Italy during a heatwave in a griff' 500 and a 4k miles trip down France into Spain and back again without a hitch. If they are maintained correctly there shouldn't be an issue. Glad you're enjoying it though thumbup

I did 300 miles in mine last weekend to Hants and back which was tiring enough, 1000!

Averaged 25 mpg as well and no it wasn't all light throttle cruising, the roads from the Swindon bypass to the south coast either side of Marlborough are fun.
