i see mole valley cars are offering complete rebuilt cars in 4 and 5 litre versions at 20+k depending on spec do folk think there are customers out there for such offerings or are folk more likely to purchase a car then have the work done as they see fit.

When you see what money is being spent on old Austin Healey 3000s, MGB V8s, Cobras (replicas or otherwise) and so on; slower and worse handling cars but seen as hairy chested 'classics,' then yes, I'd say they believe there is a market for them.

I'll have to pop in for a look. It's only a couple of miles up the road from me.

It's Funny that they're doing this. They removed the TVR logo from their sign a few years back and TVRs seem to have faded from their premises.

There is always a good supply of upmarket sports cars on the forecourt and in their showroom but rarely a tiv.

They must think there is a market for them now, the up and coming well healed maybe?

Bespoke Performance (The TVR Centre) have been doing this for years, there's always at least one car being fully restored at any time.

If I were starting again I would look very carefully at one. If I look at the price of a half decent 500 now and then add the price of the various modifications that you might want to make then a fully sorted car for 20+k starts to look like a good deal.

I have seen one or two adverts like this recently and I would assume they are attractive to those people looking for an RV8 car, know of the issues and want one with these all covered off before purchase.

My car could probably do with a body lift and a check over of the outriggers and chassis. I don't think they are too bad and have never been mentioned in 4 MOT's but for peace of mind I'd like them checked over and rubber down and refinished wherever needed.

May have to drop the OP a line to see how he is fixed this winter smile

Hi Guys just seen this thread.... I have just picked up my SX today from Mole Valley after a little work and can safely say after spending a couple of hours chatting to John & Chris that TVR's are still very much a part of Mole Valleys DNA !! Johns history regarding TVR goes way back, I could of spent the whole day shooting the breeze with John & Chris and was made to feel very welcome in every respect !
The pair of Chimaeras in build are going to be amazing, with the 500 nearly finished and as for the future watch this space !!
