Had to remove the ACT 90 degree elbow and AFM to change the failed AFM and noticed that there was a reasonable amount of water sitting in the plenum inlet on the elbow side of the throttle disc. Can't think where it could have come from other than condensation.
Is that normal ?

Pulled both the rubber hoses that connect to here and found no water in them.

Cheers.

It could only get there from the preheat plate underneath- but as it not connected unlikely. Much more like condensation.

maybe been sucked in if you been driving in the rain? My hose was wet inside when i swapped it for an ACT elbow a few weeks ago but i had been driving in a downpour just before and the air intake is in quite a vunerable position to suck up water??

Can water get through the air filter ? I thought that the oil was supposed to prevent this, although I guess the air would at least have a high moisture content.

Initially I wondered how it could stay in an engine that was hot but I guess there is nowhere for it to evaporate to as effectively a closed system.

I was just a little alarmed at the quantity. Thinking this is all going to get sucked into a cylinder when the engine starts up. I'll stick a photo on of the water tonight if chance.

You get quite a lot of exhaust gas in the general plenum- and thats has lots of water vapour in it
