Starter motor - the saga continues!!

Hi folks.
Hopefully this will sort my clicking snags on start up. I've tried the hot start kit (didn't work), binned the immobiliser and have taken delivery of the London - Essex uprated 2kw starter motor.
I haven't any ramps so will be fitted by the Auto Electrician I use who is excellent.
I know a few have tried these and seemingly they are pretty positive, but has it 'actually' cured anyone's dreaded click on start up, will it or won't it start problem.
Please please someone say yes to give me hope

PS My front speakers are incredibly crap, what are good ones to put in there....

London - Essex uprated 2kw starter motor worked fine for me. The dreaded click on start can be due to a number of reasons. The hot start kit addresses one of these issues by ensuring that the full 12 volts is delivered to the starter and is not reduced due to the immobiliser wiring. Another main reason a starter clicks is that the solenoid contacts are fouled or the starter is jammed (jamming used to be the case with old style "bendix" mechs). Guessing it is the solenoid problem so your new starter should cure this as it did on mine.

PS. whilst your auto-electrician is under the car get him to check/replace the 100amp fuse in circuit from alternator to starter live feed.

My Essex 2kw starter motor is fine. No more hot start issues, spins 5 Litre engine like a Dervish. No more click click. Try it back with the hot start kit with the new starter. Clean bright and tight the battery contacts at both battery and starter ends.

He's taking the car away on Monday and cheers Mike, I'll get him to change the 100a fuse....I bought a cheap starter (think it was about £70 or £80) from Paddock Land Rover Spares and it's been great. Much quicker than the old one and starts quickly every time. My old one was clicking.
I don't think the engines need the high power starter, even a cheap pattern starter is better than the 20 year old one that was in there!
