Need you lot to tell me all the reasons I should NOT get a Chimera!!!
Bad things:
Needs TLC. Lots of TLC.
Needs maintenance. Lots of maintenance.
Needs petrol. Lots of petrol.
Needs waxoyl. All over the chassis.
It will leak vital fluids - from almost everywhere - you need a drip tray under it at all times.
It WILL let you down at some point.
Things will fall off - regularly. Door mirrors especially.
Good things:
Sounds fabulous.
Goes like stink.
Looks fantastic.
Now what on earth are you mess about for? If you actually want one go out and buy one immediately. They're completely brilliant whilst also being, errrrm, "shite"?

Vixpy,
Do it!!! I've had mine and experienced every single emotion known to man and then a few others reserved for TVR owners! However, if you like the Merc, you'll hate the Chimp unless like every other bod who's posted a reply, you're completely insane!!! Let us know what you do.
Cheers, Mike.

Had mine for 3.5 years, best thing I ever bought. I think I've also been luckier than Don, it needs regular maintenance sure, but that's about it (now on 60k). Research will show you that there are lots of cars that do x,y,z better than a TVR, however they are either more expensive, slower or just don't have any soul. Very few machines can put as broad a grin on your face for the money.
I see you're local to me, so please feel free to drop in to the monthly Surrey Region TVRCC meet. Also, if you fancy a run out in mine sometime, you'd be welcome.
Steve.
