Hi guys, can someone tell me if the indicators are on a spit circuit?

All three of my O/S indicators aren't working (front, rear & wing repeater), but all the N/S indicators are fine.

Seems strange as I wasn't aware the indicators are wired that way, from memory there's just one 20 amp fuse for the inductors, fuse 15 right?

Surely they wouldn't have wired it so if you lose one bulb you lose the other two on that side of the car?

Would've thought it was more likely to be the switch if you've lost an entire side?

Nope, not the switch as it does it when I lock & unlock the car.

TBH I didn't even check to see what happens when I drive the car as I just went to the car unlocked it, then locked it back up again.

It's just come back from 1000 mile round trip to Le mans and was fine, I have a feeling it's fine its just a fuse on the alarm unit under the dash.

For those that don't know there are two fuses on the alarm unit that protect the indicator flash circuits used when you lock & unlock the car.

I'm investigating tomorrow, I'd say with the way its behaving it's either the alarm unit fuses or the flasher relay.

I'll let you all know tomorrow.

Normally fuse is common for both sides, as is flasher relay. There are relays for each side under the dash but these are only used for hazard operation IIRC. More likely the way it all splits up is a break in the wiring under the aux relay panel (housing said relays & flasher under dash top) where the wires are joined / diodes inserted / connectors I'd guess.

Most are reasonably similar, one version I documented is:

Thanks Spend thumbup, fekin TVR wiring curse

Damn ECU relay went just outside Rouen on the way to Le Mans last week, so not having a spare I was forced to bypass it and add a remote switch to fire the fuel pump, bit of bodge that I'll put right tomorrow but it did save the trip wink

To be fair I haven't even properly checked the operation of the indicators, I just needed to get something from the car earlier and noticed all the indicators on the O/S didn't work when I unlocked then locked again.

I'll give it a thorough going over tomorrow smash

Just a few days now before embark on another 2,500 mile 10 day dash around France Land so it needs to be right rolleyes

All sorted, as I suspected the indicators were working fine but only the N/S indicators flashed when the car was locked & unlocked.

That lead me directly to the alarm unit where I found & rectified a bad connection which gave me the full hazard flash lock/unlock function.

Must have knocked it when I was investigating the no-start problem on the way the Le Mans last week.

Gave the old girl an oil change to prepare for next week and she's ready for another dash around France Land driving

Never thought of that.

My Audi has a side light gone, reminds me every time I start the car.

I will change the oil. That should fix it!
