How much is the cherry bomb mod?

I don`t like them my self . All they do is open the silencer up ,remove wadding and perforated pipe ,fit solid pipe ,fit wadding and weld the box up .
End result is a unrefined tractor type exhaust note .
If you speak to good exhaust fabricators they will till you it does not have to be loud to sound good .
My advice would be to look in to in depth before jumping in the deep end .

You can do solid pipe half pipe half perforated which sounds pretty good .
Or loose the silencer box and ether buy the ACT JP sports exhaust or convert your own like this

There are other options , removing the pre cats to start with and next fitting a de cat Y piece ..

Have you said 'Cherry Bomb' because it's actual Cherry Bombs that you want or do you like a nice loud sound?
If the later, it's not just cherry bombs. You can sleeve, remove main decat and/or pre-cats. All can be combined with each other or on their own and produce slightly different results.
I've got full decat (main and precats out) with a standard box and that's loud enough for me.

thank you for that, I had been watching that you tube vid today. Its from watching the vids like that and just seeing cherry bomb which made me enquire.End result is a unrefined tractor type exhaust note .

Ive said cherry bombs as thats all I have seen mentioned name wise on forums and you tube etc. Once I get one I will find out exactly what I want. Daz, are you stalking me, you keep putting up old pictures of mine.
Cherry bombs are relatively cheap and sound great. Easy to fit and can be done DIY if you or a mate can use a MIG welder, I used something similar to this on my last chimaera.

By then id tried most variations, straight through rusty pipe (welded in by a "TVR SPECIALIST" at least Dick Turpin wore a Mask), which led to trying the 50/50, which was very nice. I also tried the Y piece at one point, but thought it too loud. The car was loud rather than the exhaust.
In the end I put the main CAT back in and welded in 2 cherry bombs. Loved it. I thought it to be the best sound of all variations. The exhaust was loud but it didn't drone so was much better on motorways etc.
Now I have a turbo so no Cats and I have wrapped half of the perf pipe with exhaust bandage, sounds brilliant when I hit the loud pedal.
