Had the lovely experience of the smell of being spat about the engine bay for fun yesterday . I found the culprit hose - fortunately it was one I could see so I was sure about the issue ( just behind the engine , drivers side).
Despite being serviced to too distantly it has brought into sharp relief what could have been (To be fair to the garage though they really don't look bad to the eye). I've not been too successful in finding info online so the questions, before I run down to my local tame man, are .....
Are all the hoses the same gauge /diameter ( I'm assuming they will be)?
How much of the stuff should I get in terms of length?
Are there any particularly awkward bits that are going to make me swear a lot ?
Typical isn't it - weather like this and it's the first time all year I can't make other road users jealous!!
Keep on Tivving ,
Dave.

I replaced these on a mates Chim and it was a two man job to get the hoses fed up and over the gearbox and needed the exhaust off so I could get my arm over the top of the box.
One had the join over the gearbox too, so I cut that back to down the OS chassis and fixed there.
Not a pig of a job, but a damned site easier with 2 and a ramp.

If you are replacing fuel hoses now is the time to make sure you specify SAE J30R9 which is the lowest spec now suitable for the new Ethanol E5 and E10 fuels.
Lower spec hoses can be eaten by the Ethanol fuels.

Just drop a cable down ,tie or tape it on to the pipe and pull it up .One had the join over the gearbox too, so I cut that back to down the OS chassis and fixed there.

That article is misleading IMO that cloth over braided low pressure fuel hose in the picture as always been sLower spec hoses can be eaten by the Ethanol fuels.

te its a known in the motor trade nothing to do with fuel quality I have rectified more fuel leaks on Vauxhall's and VW/Audi (inc air cooled) cars than I care to remember fitted with it from the factory 70's on
however I have seen the stuff fade since the introduction of EFI (thankfully)
the fuel line TVR fitted to the RV8 cars in my opinion was top quality/brand the only reason it is failing is because its age and the heat extremes its subjected to under the TVR bonnet
and in extreme cases of leaks and fire due to shoddy inspections/services IMO
