haven't posted much lately but am avid reader.
would appreciate opinions please.
I'm considering a new dashboard but am not sure wether to stick with the current walnut dash or
try a carbon one. Am surprised at difference in cost for starters ??
I have always thought the colour combo of my car warrants the walnut dash ie cooper green and biscuit
so am not sure if a carbon dash would look out of place. I have always preferred to keep the car as
standard as possible so a carbon dash goes against the grain .... or does it .... I'm dithering??
I know some of you like to "potter" with your P&J's but others prefer the "standard" route.
I'm also conscious of the resale situation if I came to sell... would original/standard be preferred
or not ??

No question at all the walnut is a positive on resale if in good nick. It's that 'if' that is the problem; anyone who has lived with one of these and put loads of miles on in all weathers will know that for all they look good, they delaminate if you as much as look at them funny. I've gone stainless but mine's a keeper and hardly standard in many other ways so less of an issue. Originality, versus practicality/durability - that said, I think some of the very last cars did come with metal dashes (I certainly drove an SE Griff with one that was original fitment) and I wouldn't be surprised if the factory did the odd carbon one too if ordered so maybe don't be too inhibited
Wood from London Carriage Craft should last, I've heard their quality is second to none.

of the threads about exhaust pipes came up and was taken with what's on offer. I can understand why bods go in there and come out with more than intended !
