Spongy brakes after bleeding system

If there's no leaks and all of the pipes are ok it must still have air in the system, were you only bleeding it on level ground or were you jacking ends up high?

If you are using an auto-bleeder (air operated or tyre pressure) sometimes you also need to manually bleed forcing air from behind piston which kind of gets 'passed by' with the auto bleeders.

It can end up being a 3 stage process for success:
- auto bleed (fill pipework bit of air behind piston)
- manual bleed (eject air from caliper piston bore)
- auto bleed (all air gone).

Maybe just getting a few presses on the brake pedal during auto bleeding might work, I've mainly done it single handed so just worked through it the above way when the circuits have been opened up (rather than just normal pad replacement / fluid change) IYSWIM.

I had similar issues but the went when I used an Ezeebleed, which was excellent, but madde a mess. I had tried a vacuum one before that with little success. There is a bleed nipple on the master cylinder too but you have to amputate 3 fingers to get at it. I managed to crack the nipple with a load of small connectors on a small socket set. You're probably not as stupid as I am, but worth checking the calipers are on the right side with the bleed nipples at the right end of the caliper.
