Engine smell

Within a minute or two of starting my engine it gives off a smell which is very much like rotten eggs, one or two of my friends have suggested that it could be the catalytic converter at fault, can anybody shed some light on this.

Any smell that's like rotten eggs is due to sulphur. This must be Sulphur dioxide which should be converted by your Cat converter.

Oddly, you can get that smell if you run the car on LPG. No dea why.....

Never had that before with LPG, an occasional whiff of stenching agent like you've left the gas hob on, but never sulfur/rotten eggs, that'll be cats for sure.

My cat stinks at the mo, deffo on its way out if it keeps destroying the litter box
