Hoping someone can help.... the adjuster for the heater on the dash has jammed and my feet are now getting exceedingly hot as i drive along.
Any ideas what the problem is? Would it be the "heater box"? I assume if not i am going to have to have the dash taken out to discover the culprit, which i want to try to avoid!!!

help and comments appreciated.

agree with Steve, sounds like the cable buggered. Worse part of the job is getting dash off, easy after that. Temp fix though is to move the metal "arm" that controls the heat temp down to somewhere in the middle if its too hot. You will find that in the left hand side of the passenger footwell.

when you have climbed into the passenger seat upside down and back out again, to put the torch where you can reach it, then banged your head, then filled your hand with glass shards, etc. etc.
you don't have to take the dash off completely to get the cable replaced - you can just undo all the nuts and lift it up, then prop it with empty water bottles, etc. the cables are pretty cheap.
it's not too bad if you have the room to open the doors right out etc. i did mine in a single garage!

good luck

Stick your head under the passenger footwell look up and you will see the temperature valve on the heater pipe adjust the temperature up and down and see if it moves you never know your luck it might be at that end rather than in the dash
