Speedo removal - How to?

The mileometer on my '93 Chimaera is the rare, digital type and has stopped memorising the car's mileage. Upon each start-up, the mileage is reset to zero. I know from a forum search that this is most likely down to a battery within the speedo which is responsible for memorising the mileage and that the speedo can be sent to a company called ETB to be repaired and correct mileage entered however, what I don't know is how to go about removing the offending speedo and wondered whether anyone can provide some guidance? I've seen lots of posts re dash top removal to facilitate replacing cracked veneer and wondered whether it's possible to extract the speedo without taking the dash top off?

Can anyone help?

You have to take the dash top off, then release the speedo from behind (two knurled nuts & bracket + the electrical connectors) and draw out through the dash panel.

Thanks kindly! Feared that would be the case, but hoped someone might say the bezel unscrewed or something.

Its not all that hard - I can get my dash off in about 5 minutes, if that.

I could probably get the unit out within 10?
