Rear coilover spring spec?

Anyone tell me what the OE spec is for a rear chimaera coilover spring. I have new AVO adjustable shocks on order but want to get slightly softer than standard rear springs, need ID, Length, Rate?

They fit but i think for some reason the spring 1" shorter .

From a recent thread, where someone complained about the front of his car being up in the air after fitting brand new dampers, it turned out he had been supplied 8 inch springs front and rear, whereas the fronts should have been one inch shorter.

So, Watson, can we deduce that this is the reason? Shorter ones are fronts, longer rears?

Standard springs are 275lb.

These are really soft and I experienced the tail hitting the ground on several "spirited" drives.

I am positive that if you fit weaker springs to the rear then you will have trouble.

Of course you may weigh 6st

Thanks peter thats what i wanted to know, my car although chimaera based is going to be lighter generally.

so 275lbs rating, 8 inch long, is seat diameter the usual 2.25"?

Yes, they are the standard 2 1/4".

Nitron supply both springs the same length front and rear ,I don`t know why but they know what they are doing . There road set up works perfectly .
