Hi,

I am interested in hearing where your Megasquirt ECU has been mounted, also I would like to know your views on cable run lengths and vacuum hose max length. I would like to put my ECU in the boot if practical. Pics of your installation would be a bonus.

Try the storage space behind the passenger seat, shorter cable runs than the boot.

suppose it depends how much work you want to do.
you could (i did) move the fusebox behind the passenger seat, battery into the boot and then mount the megasquirt in the footwell

Mine is in the under dash pouch if you plan on running on MAP rather than Alpha N (throttle and RPM only) you will get massive vacuum signal lag/delay running with the ECU mounted in the boot (unless you run an external MAP sensor) along with cable losses and chances of signal corruption IMO do you get the impression I think it would be a bad idea? and why would you anyway?

Same here, on top of the battery wrapped in bubble wrap.

On top of the battery in the footwell. Nicely insulated and cushioned with a bit of foam.

Its something they gave away on a joint promotion between Weetabix and Colgate, IIRC

Thanks all,

Cockpit it is then, it is setup using Alpha N. The only reason for locating in the boot was easy access, tuning the ECU is from a car computer with Tunerstudio loaded that utilises an in dash 7" screen.
