Driver's seat higher than passenger's

Had my car for many years and not really noticed this before, probably due to relatively recently having the seat squabs refurbished.

Is the driver's seat higher than the passenger's in all Chimaera's?

Mine seems to have a piece of square section steel (?) between the runner and the floorpan.

The difference in height is quite noticeable:

Been to look at mine and the drivers seat DOES seem higher than the passenger seat, though not as obvious as yours. Never noticed it before!

Perhaps a previous owner was particularly short, or had an exceptionally tall passenger and took the runner off. Does the passenger seat adjust backwards and forwards?

By the looks of it one of the seats has been dropped or raised above what was standard, like previous posters said, your cars had a vertically challenged driver or passenger in it's life.

Mine is the same. I actually added them to my passenger seat to raise the front of it as it always seemed very flat to me. Now its the same as the drivers seat.

My TVR, from the factory these were fitted to the drivers seat only.

Because the one bolt is not directly above the other I guess you'd have to drill a couple of new holes in the floor to fit these on the passenger side

It is standard, to give you the correct position for driving with your thighs supported so that your feet are free to do their business.
Passengers should be seen and not heard.
