Gap between top of door glass and roof.

Hi everyone,

What do you think about the gap in this image, it's a 1993 Chimaera that needs some TLC, is it normal for instance, is there a seal missing etc?

There should be a rubber seal along the end edges of the targa panel. Can't confirm from that pic whether yours is missing or not.

I think in the early model the rubber trim on the edge of each side is rivetted on. If it's had a later targa panel fitted, the rubber trim slides inside a groove.

There should be a rubber seal fixed to the underside of the roof panel that closes that gap.

I have one on my single piece roof, but on the two piece roof I had made, I've not yet found the right profile of rubber to fix on to it. I have something close to the shape, but I have been reluctant to fix it on for some time in the hope I get the right one.

Definitely a seal missing.

The doors tend to drop too so you'll probably need to adjust the window height or you'll get a nice whistle at speed.
There is a screw adjuster that can just be accessed between the glass and the inner door trim (with the window down).

Seal missing is it, just had a look at the drivers side piccy I took, definitely a gap that side as well. Roof is reported to be newly acquired and the present owner has fallen out of love with the car and left a number of other jobs not finished.
Might be the car for me to restore now I am retired or in pension as my mate likes to call it.
