Conversation With Audi TT Owner
Discussion
I swear this is not willy waving. I am so gobsmacked by the thought processes of this idiot I just had to tell someone.
I was being dragged around the last minute christmas shopping by the missus and my glazed eyeballs passed over an Audi TT. I was thinking "What's it doing in the handicapped parking spot? Why is it so bloody dirty and why would you buy one?" when a voice next to me said "Nice, innit?".
Without realising he was the owner I said "Not really, hairdresser car" at which point the pigeon chested oik puffed himself up and said "Oh yeah? Whadjoo drive then? BMW or sumfink?".
"Chimaera".
"Wassat? One of them shitty Hyundais innit?"
"TVR"
Brief pause.
"Flash git"
Unbelievable.

Mate has a 150bhp, front wheel drive TT roadster - complete poser, not interested in driving, just what he looks like in it! Its as if the car is a piece of trendy clothing, or a flash watch.
Thing is i think it looks smart! Wouldn't buy one myself (golf in drag), I'll stick with the Chim, but i can see why people buy them.
Fishing for compliments is always risky as beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Merry Christmas - Pete A

Poor sod was "touting" for a compliment by the sounds of things - and didn`t get one even then
Good colour choice for the Chim BTW

Why? You've just been rude about his motor, tit for tat?
Flintstone's starter is hilarious but i really like this from 2 smokin barrels. I always try and remember how i felt about my first car (unmentionable here
) and even though it was a real junker I was chuffed with it. Now when 'caught' looking at someone else's i try and find something to compliment them on that way when they ask the inevitable I usually get back a string of appreciative questions.
ah the zen karma of TVR ownership, plus you look for the oik at a set of lights and show him yours
merry Xmas everybody
mike
that really yanks my chain - people who park in disabled spots.....my missus likes to mention it to me loudly when we pass them....so I just say to her " they probably are dear....MENTALLY disabled"... anyone spot the "who's the plonker " photo in this Dec sprint...I've the answer.... the 3 TVR owners parked in the disabled parking spaces....
They may be selfish plonkers who are parking in disabled bays without need / reason but on the other hand they or their passenger could have a disabled badge & be displaying it.
Only saying that as my girlfriend has a disabled badge & if she goes out in the Chim (or any other car) with me I use a disabled space if its more convenient so she doesn't have so far to walk.

This is the point at which I would have tw*tted him, dragged him over to his car and introduced his face to the grill.
You would have had 3 valid reasons for doing so
a) he parked in a disabled bay without due need
b) he was driving a TT
c) he was driving a TT

Now then.....am I to assume that when I'm driving my Chim you'd come & pass the time of day...but when I'm in my TT you wouldn't?
I have to agree though, anybody who parks in a disabled space, or parks straddling two parking spaces are unmitigated w*nkers. These are probably the same people who moan about middle lane hoggers, or blokes in cloth caps.

People get so defensive about their cars. In my mind it's simple, if you like it and you can afford it get one. If the next bloke don't like it, then fine, we're not all the same! Don't go explaining why you like it, or defending it (e.g. Speed 6 owners who try to convince themselves & others that they're quite reliable really) cos it really doesn't matter!

Well said. Honesty is always the best policy.
I always feel sorry for TT drivers. Especially this time of year. Brings a tear to my eye. Poor buggers.
Everytime they go to open the driver's door the question "Why?" must echo through their mind.
