450 v8 camshaft

hello, i want ask to you if the engine 450 of Griffith is the same of the engine of the chimera 450. these engines are the same of 4.6 of range rover p38? i want know what camshaft has the engine of chimera 450 and what camshaft has the engine of Griffith 450.

This is the camshaft that came out of my 2000 year model Chimaera 450.



The engines are broadly the same in the Chimaera and the Griff.

It's a standard Rover engine that usually had the cam changed to the one pictured above. Hope that helps a little.

The camshaft you see is fitted to the standard car when new, yes my compression is now higher but that's because the engine has been re built. The picture shows you the cam fitted to a standard comp ratio engine as supplied by Rover.
I think it's a Kent cam, look up Kent cams and you should find one with those numbers written on it.

There were only very few Griffiths fitted with a 450 engine as standard, but it is not the same as a 450 Chimaeara as the crank is different as are the rods, different cc etc and of course compression ration IIRC.
For the record the standard Chimaera 450 CR is not 9.35:1 as stamped on the block and is nearer a touch under 9.0:1
