Later Model Under Bonnet Heat Shields

Hey all, I would like to post another recommendation for John Z. Having a later Chim (2000), I was searching for replacement heat shields for the underside of the bonnet which are 4 piece vs the single part from the earlier models.

Check out the state of these nasty looking things




After a quick chat with John (full of great advice and a top bloke too), I pulled off the old heat-shields, and within a couple of weeks, received these back in the post.....Top Job


I just need to fit them to the car, and job done. They look a million times better that the old ones, and way better finished than ones I would try to make myself. I will post pics once fitted, but they look bang on.

Just a quick bit of advice, Would Evostick be a suitable adhesive to fix these to the underside of the bonnet??

I hear no more nails tape is the way to go. Make sure you post some photos and let us know how you do it, mine look as bad as your original ones

He has supplied me all new for the inside of the wings and bulkhead, not fitted yet but look the dogs, under bonnet will be put to shame so will need doing as well, he has also provided uprated PS hoses and fuel lines, as said Top bloke

I reckon I would have a go at this, rated at 100C should be ok on the bonnet area

Got John's heat shields for my car last year. Nicely done and look close enough to original as well.

He does have a great set of engine trinkets for your TVR if that's your thing.
The photos I've seen of his engine bay are stunning

Thanks guys, will get some adhesive ordered and get them fitted. Will post pics when done.

John posted me some pics of his engine bay, wow. Pretty amazing, and something to aim for in the future.
I've already earmarked more parts from him, including the PS kit, as mine has a slight leak.
Still so much to do, but will get there in the end

Well, nearly a month later I managed to get the heatshilds fitted.

Bonnet before installation


I tracked down some High Temp adhesive from Car Builder Solutions with specific instructions for priming Heat-mat for installation, so should be ok


Really good company too, fast polite service, and they supply parts to the Kit Car community so this stuff should be fine on Fibreglass panels too.

Only time will tell, but all stuck on very well. Used a roller to help eliminate any air bubbles, and really stick to the bonnet

Piccy of finished install. Really easy job, and again, a massive thanks to John Z for supplying the heat mat panels. Look great, and same as stock fitting.
