Adjusting side window aluminium frame?!?!?
Discussion
Anyone,
Ok, so I have something else that needs looking at now. Just hit a rather high speed on the way to the train station this morning (could have been around 100MPH, but it was on a private section of road you know
).
It seems that the side aluminium frame on the drivers side seems to shake somewhat. Ok at lower speeds, but I guess that the air pressure / speed is enough to pull it out slightly causing it to vibrate a lot. The problem is that I am off to Duxford on the 10th August to do the runway blast - but dont want to chicken out 'cos of the side glass.....
Anyone know how to adjust / tighten this up to stop it vibrating so much? Not sure where to look to tighten it up....
Suggestions welcome - hoping to not look like a monkey on the 10th!
Cheers and thanks in advance,
Paul

There are some nuts at the front and back to of the door which are glassed into the door moulding. A bolt goes through the frame from the inside of the door. So look down the thread of the glassed in nut and see if the bolt is still there. If not this may be causing your rattling.
Or else the window may have come out of the frame or the frame needs adjusting. See if the window goes up very slowly or if it moves about alot in the frame
If not this may be causing your rattling
You will have to take the inner door panel off to get at the frame etc which is done through the speaker hole, I did it a few weeks ago if you need more info
hope this helps

I found that it took me a while, guess you must have had the right shape/length of arm to get through the speaker hole properly!
By the way you can check by looking down the glassed in nuts without taking the inner door panel off, but if you need to replace the bolt then the door panel will need to come off am fraid
