Push Button Door Release Failed

Ladies and Gentlemen

Quick bit of advice please.
The push button door release on my 2000 Chim has stopped working i.e. door will not open from outside - inside release is fine.
Any quick fixes before I head off to my local garage?. What is most likely to have gone wrong?.

It's most likely a tired solonoid and probably needs replacement (its not expensive). I assume the passenger side is working okay? However, worth also checking the fuses and then the solonoid wiring connectors to make sure there isn't any corrosion -- open the side panel behind the drivers seat and check the solonoid and wiring connectors in there.

if you take the speaker out there is a connector for the button wiring behind it that is exposed to the weather...may be worth checking that too...
