Which goo to re seal the heater matrix?

Have removed the heater matrix and the box it sits in. It was held in by some white sealant which needs replacing. Anyone got any good suggestions as to what the best sealant is to use for re fit?

The metal piping that connects to the matrix is in poor condition,i know I can replace with stainless,i know others have replicated in copper plumbing pipe but has anyone replaced everything with silicone?

That was my thread before my name change, I would recommend using external frame sealant to replace the white stuff
