Got no destructions with it?

I'd say that was the switch, you've got another one for live yeah?

Edit: I don't see why it would need a switch, it should just be plug and play apart from running a separate live feed confused

No instructions connected ,maybe its the ground but i don`t understand why it is not joinedin to the connector .

Do i connect it to the started motor and alternator ? looking at the relays they have different diagrams on the front ,are they different ?

Any idea what the yellow box it goes to is? In my mind the loom would work by getting a new live feed from the battery and those relays would be switched by the old loom, so I can't figure a use for the loose blue wire. I've never used one of these looms though so am utterly speculating. Blue wires are normally a remote switch though on most audio equipment.

The yellow connectors feed each light ,both with a blue loose one ,it must be a ground but what do i do with it ? ether connect it to the engine or chassis . I could connect it to the ground on my original connectors ,one is not being used because it collects the feeds from one of the existing connectors .

Do the TVR ones run separate or linked off each other ?

Dunno, try it, worse that will probably happen is that it will blow a fuse or bulb. I wouldn't ground it to anything other than the battery/chassis/light loom as interference is a pig on lighting and will likely give you disco lights. Just looks a weird gauge and colour to be a ground to me, I can't think what else it would be though so would probably also give it a go.

This is purely unprofessional advice and may create an unreasonable risk for readers who choose to apply or use the information. We do not accept responsibility for death, injury or the creation of a wormhole to another dimension

I would not ground anything that was not black- just leave it disconnected and see if every thing works to start with.

I too bought this loom (several of them!)...ONLY for the sum of the parts, that can be taken apart and put back together to be a good loom, creating a loom with ceramic holders and twin relays has cost me silly money in the past. It needed an additional link in place of the blue wires and reworking of the relay connections (and all marking up to mimic standard colours).
Not a purchase for the people who cannot understand the drawings on the back of the 4/5 pin relays... even at the pennies it costs.

I suspect there is a market there for you Adrian !

I would be interested in an easy to install improved headlight loom with ceramic bulb holders

Hopefully, you have not just popped over from the Wedge forum to say this LOL ( I did see the name change quote)...I deleted posts from there last week BECAUSE a comment about the thought of making money out of Wedge owners in making parts with my 3D printer THAT was deemed to be ripping people off!! (I don't need to let anyone know how much I have invested my 3D toy).

In all seriousness, IF people cannot understand how the relays works in this very simple loom (sorry but), the car should be with someone who can, (my insurance would not cover me explaining on-line something that could create an electrical nightmare).

WTF ?

1) Nope, not been over to the cheese shaped forum
2) I am interested in improving my headlights performance and from various threads which are going on about similar subjects, probably so are many others. I certainly can understand how the relays work, but would prefer to buy something ready made from within and for the TVR community specifically for a Chim. No excess wires, correct wire lengths, correct terminations etc.
Sorry for the suggestion !

My bad at being funny!
Don't get arsy, it is not warranted, please look at my profile, I have owned 80 plus TVR's and done ALMOST EVERYTHING that anyone has even dreamed about to my/customers car , I DO MY utmost best to be helpful on here.
AND on PH...IF, I post that I have an item for sale, THEN I am Likely to get a warning from the mods...see past the rubbish and look at what you need and find it.

Wasn't getting 'Arsy' but

'IF people cannot understand how the relays works in this very simple loom (sorry but), the car should be with someone who can'

did rile me. grumpy

Back on topic....

You said

I am not suggesting you give advise on line, I understand about the insurance, being a business, but I would have thought this represents an opportunity for someone to make up, and sell Chim specific looms. Probably fit Griffs as well. scratchchin

Or has it already been done ? confused

This is a TVR forum do we do riled (LOL)....I would quite happily make up headlamp looms, IMHO the standard connectors are not up to even 100/80 upgrades...up until now there has not been anything that has usable with all the bits at £7.00 !!!! that WAS 30.00 plus worth of loom, it is a doable, buy it and mod it loom, with all the right bits not necessarily in all the right places (my humour, M & W 1970's) read the relays, extend the power leads, power it up from the starter motor ...I invested my money and bought some of these...and am happy it works.

Its a plug and play so why should i need to know how the relays work ? Just asked a few questions

I thought the idea was just to disconnect both connectors and plug the one on the new loom to one of them, then simply pick up a good live . if it went wrong i could simply reconnect the old connectors to get me home .

1 What are the blue cables for ?
2 Are both relays the same (so i can buy spares)
3 where is the best place to connect the live feed from .

Is this setup not wired correctly ?

Can you help or not ? or should i throw it in the bin ?wobble

If its no good can you make me one up at cost ? i can send you the loom .Thanks Daz

Id take the live feed directly from the back of the alternator, and any earths need to go on the engine block to keep the resistance path to the headligts as low as possible. Are there any symbols ob the device with the red, black and blue wires? If you get stuck, pop one of them in the post to me and Ill meter it out for you.

I'm probably being stoopid, but isn't it obvious what the three wires are for each bulb?

The red and black wires must both be12V feeds: one for dipped beam and one for full beam. Admittedly, black is a confusing choice of colour for a live feed, but...

That would leave the blue wire with the ring terminal as the earth.

Am I missing something, or misunderstanding the question?
