Wow. What a car.

Not been around my Tiv for a good few of months, due to work and life - but in that time I did buy a new car.
Previously I had a chipped Octy Vrs CR which would do 7.x seconds and upto 60Mpg and was great handling, huge space and a genuinely the best car I have owned.
I now have one of the those Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV jobbies. Ghastly. 5% BIK. Say no more.
3 months without touching the old lady I took her for a whirl during recent sunny dry weather. I felt guilty she was so dirty - that she no longer smelled of leather and wax. that her discs were brown.
No prep other than cursory tyre kick, notched the key. Listened for the whir....Twist the key. BOOOOM!! <BIG GRIN>
How could I have forgotten that!!?? Driving an electric variomatic must have infected my brain.... She was not only alive but she was shouting to be undressed. So I took her top off and off we went. and we went and we went.
Oh. My. Word. face ache and neck ache. Happy strangers and a happy driver!
What was supposed to be a 15 min warm up, was a 2 hour B road cruise.
YAY!

Mine also full had beepers, sound proofing, full bluetooth (inc streaming), superchip (same engine as Audi TT, so works well), Stiffer ARB, Smaller wheels and better tyres and some other stuff... I miss most of all being able to see the instruments, buttons (and having them illuminated), being comfortable, having bag hooks, seats that go far enough back to have a toddler in a seat in the front without the scuff of the dash and far enough forward to have a coffin in the back...SILICONEKID345HP said:

Its for work ,costs very little to run and i get over 40 mpg .Same as Peugeot Citroen.

Tell me more about the phev. Am currently looking at that as a replacement for my FJ. Need a 4 wheel drive plugin hybrid that can carry 4 people and 2 dogs. The phev seems to tick all the boxes except looks and quality seem a bit meh! Not a lot of alternatives at the moment, just wish it was a bit more Honda-ish on the interior.

Build aint bad, to be honest. I don't mind the looks - it looks bigger than it is- it's tall not wide so easy on the country lanes / parking.It's the location of the switchgear, the crap/slow infotainment system and oodles of little things which I don't like. But when you actually stop trying to drive it and just treat it like a shuttle is great. Very good on grass and slippery tracks and with my wintrac extremes on it has been incredibly sure-footed in the frost and icy roads this morning.
I get ~38-40MPG on long trips eg London to Manchester and back and if not on long trips to ~22 mile electric range means for shopping / school / errands I often go for a couple of weeks without using any fuel at all - £1.80 to charge which works out about 1/3 the price of petrol I think.
welcome to have a go of it if you are anywhere near me - Redhill ish, surrey.

What makes it a special edition? Looks like the end of line model with all the extra options chucked on it,TT engine? Looks like a vag cr170 lump, unless I read wrong?
