Brake servo

Can anyone help I have a 93 chim and have noticed the brake servo is leaking from inside and dripping of the brake pedal ,can anyone tell me what servo is needed I replaced the resovoir with ka one with a master cylinder fitted but didn't use the master cylinder part so I'm guessing its a ka one but not sure [ help please]

Leaking air is what servo's do, if you are leaking fluid, then that is from the master cylinder through the servo, it will need removing and draining...obviously the master cylinder is/has been leaking.

The master cylinder is leaking into the brake servo once full it will bleed off into the push-rod connected to the pedal you need to renew the faulty MC and vac all that brake fluid out of the servo not an easy job probably about a litres worth it wont dry out and the longer its left in there the more damage it will cause and new brake servo's are in short supply and bloody expensive too (Fiesta MK3)

is it not possible for servo to leak as ihave new mc

Servo will only contain brake fluid if a previous master cylinder has leaked and filled it up. It should be an empty tank with a diaphragm and big spring in it basically.

when I push brake pedal all I get is sqwelchie sound would it be worth changing the mc first

I reckon this is it, is the MC new then?

yes it came with the resovoir I only used the resovoir

Could you be a bit more specific.
Have you changed the master cylinder recently? if you have what master cylinder did you install?

Have you fitted an aftermarket ford ka master cylinder. They look the same as the original one Tvr fitted, but i am sure there is a slight difference.

The original master cylinder and servo are paired, i.e they are designed for one to work with the other.

resovoir and master were a pair brought off ebay listed for chimaera I only wanted the res as mine had desintegraited with the heat the new res was the shape so just used the new resovoir and two seals on the bottom

Did you change the black cylinder with the 3 plpes coming off? I am slightly confused here

Your master cylinder must be leaking to get fluid in the servo! This will need stripping down and cleaning out with a prayer that they are not both fubar. The right master cylinder and servo is a £500 job just for parts, assuming you can get them. A right PITA to do as well - good luck!

Not quite that bad for new; Servo and Master cylinder
Certainly do agree it wouldn't be a fun job though.
