Anyone know this Chimaera?

Found it on Autotrader by Googling. Don't know the car, 57k and a pre-facelift 1996 car for £7995. Seems a fair retail price, but at this time of year you should have a good choice.
The chassis on the earlier cars tend to be better than the later ones, but insist on a new MOT done by somewhere else (or get one done immediately on purchase) to make sure the outriggers are good - if they fail its a £2000 repair bill. Hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like the carpets are showing their age. After that it's drive it and see how it feels. I would suggest you drive a few at this time of year and try to choose a good one. What are your plans for the car? Summer country cruiser, or daily driver, or track tool, or what?

Sorry I don't know the car in question although I know of a nice 4.5 that will be for sale in the new year at <£10k if within your budget and can hang on 2-3 weeks....

Thank you. I thought that it was about time that I made a post on here! I didn't quintet that about the J in AJP, think I'll do some reading over the holiday. In regards to the use of the car, it has had the outriggers replaced 4 years ago, with a dollop of engine work (camshafts etc) added on. The engine bay it self look tired and has a broken exhaust manifold gasket. In side the seats are reasonable but the carpet is looking its age and also missing the passenger side footwell carpet.
Any car that I would get would be used purely for fun as I have another car for the daily stuff.
