I was just wondering about my March 1993 Chimaera.....would this make it one of the 1st produced. Are there older ones out there ? You often here about high prices for the last ones produced, but what about the prices for the early ones and there place in TVR history....... or is that just wishful thinking on my part 
Search vin numbers on here, that will probably give you better info on the subject. Don't confuse first registered vs first sold vs first produced... or even first chassis made vs first completed car vs first paper doc (plan to make) ???... the orders (dev / work / sales) are all a bit confusing in development & production runs IYSWIM

Hi Kev, my beast was first registered March 1st in 1993. There were a handful of cars sent out to the main dealers across the country at this time. These were the first I believe. Mine was build number 1107 and was thought to be one of the earliest. Chassis was date stamped December 1992 but as far as I know there was only the press release car that came before 1993. That's the one with weird headlight cowls and no sword swipe vents in the bonnet. That car was registered K563RFR and is now pimped with white paint and Tuscan lights, looks s
te. You'll know if your car is a really early one because you have no twisty knob for the doors and a pair of levers infront of the center console instead.
As for price, mine had done 94,000 miles and sold privately for just under £7k recently in the winter.

My first Chim was an early '93 4.0. It had the levers in front of the handbrake to open the doors. The chassis number ended 0019 which I was told meant it was the nineteenth one made. It unfortunately ended up being sold by everyone's favourite breaker up north after we had an argument with a tree and lost. It's still taxed so if anyone here owns K891NMB then feel free to get in touch.
By coincidence my next Chim was an '02. One of the last twenty made with 16"s all round and headlight cowlings.
