Hello all, thought I would say hi and show you my new toy. She is replacing a Mk1 MX5 which isn't overly standard one with 260bhp.
A friend of mine really wasn't using this so I snapped it up on Boxing day. Happy Xmas to me! All seems very standard and I'll keep it this way for the moment. Unfortunately just the 4.0 but she goes well enough for now. Few minor issues to sort but nothing major.

Cheers gents, one of the first jobs I was going to do was a full alignment setup. The last owners has just put new tyres on but they are Toyo T1rs. personally I'm really not a fan of them. I'm like a big kid, every time I start it I giggle like a child.
Toyo's are a good choice of tyre for the Chim, just check the tyre pressures....fronts 22/24 ish rears 24/26 ish depends on how they feel to you as the driver.Mines 22 front and 24 rear
A beautiful example . Its an easy car to modify if you wish and will get looks wherever you drive. As others have said freindly banter on here and some great guys who do leave the TVR fold for a short time to scratch an itch either in the aston world or nobler

I usually take my cars to supertyres in Maldon for alignment, the guys there are young but enthusiastic. They did a good job on my MX5 so trust them. I was shoe horned into the back of MG T types as a child, dragged around racing tracks for my old mans MG obsession, he then bought a Chim 4.3 in the 90's then a 4.0. No idea why that way around! He is getting on a bit now so moved back to a MGB V8 which may explain of my love for the English stuff, Had a 66 Midget, Elise and a few other bits. I bought my MX5 as a cheap toy but ended up with a Complete turbo build Megasquirt and so on. I wont do that to the TVR, it just gets too expensive! just ordered a few parts which I'll fit myself such as rocker gaskets, new brake lines, wobbly wing mirror and a minor leak in the foot well which looks like inner wing grommets, but other than that all looks quite straight forward.. But they return. Who are you using to set the car up, as l noticed your in Essex? Mark

No need to remove the door card. You only need access via the speaker hole.It will be wobbly for one of two reasons:
1. The main casting is failing.
2. The main fixing screw is loose.
If the mirror unit just swivels freely it may be a detached spring.
I have just had mine apart for fixing both and removing them for a respray. So I know how it all comes apart. I am in South Cambs tomorrow and down near Chelmsford once a week on business - is that your part of Essex? I will happily pop over and diagnose if you like, and show you how it all comes apart and help you fix it.

Yum! I will email you when I know which day next week I am Chelmsford boundI gotta say I'm taken back how friendly it is on here. I'm going to put TVR ownership akin to owning a wooden boat... I'm just the current caretaker, these cars really get to you as I keep going to the garage to check things over! My first hurdle is the strange bolts on the rocker cover, I don't have the correct socket for it and seems a strange one.
