Hi and happy new year!!
Firstly please excuse my lack of technical experience.
This evening when I was driving back from work I noticed some smoke coming from under the bonnet, at first I just though it was rain that had got under and was being burnt off but then realised it had been undercover all day. All temperature and oil guage were fine.
Got home chcked under the bonnet and the smoke was coming from the drivers side under the windscreen and just below the rocker cover and there was fluid being burnt off the exhaust. So I got Mrs pistol's make up mirror and it looks like the rubber seal that runs along side of the rocker cover has come loose just in the area.
So my question are:
Can I refit this myself and if so does anybody know how? see previous statement RE tchnical experience.
And
Is there any thing to be concerned about ie why it happened in the first place?
Hope someone on here can help.

Have a real good look around the power steering hoses. It is commom for leaks to occur which will track along the pipes then drip on to the rocker cover, then on to rocker cover gasket and eventually find its way on to the manifold. Exactly the same thing happend to mine, I found a small leak under the steering fluid pot.
Good luck

Thnaks everyone for all your help,

I managed to get the AA out to check it out and they suprisingly
couldn't fix it roadside, so they took it to there preffered garage and guess what they too couldn't so off it went to the Main dealers.
To cut a long story short they managed to replace the gasket and charged me 80 quid , which I was amazed at
, I was expecting at least the standard 10 hour labour charge. Best of all I am able to claim it back on my AA parts and labout plus warranty, (hence the original call to the AA).
So once again many thanks.
