Leven dash vent fitment tips?

I have the Leven aluminium surrounds on the dash air vents (i.e. the ones facing driver and passenger). Has anyone got any tips on how to get these to fit better in the gaps in the dash, given that you don't want to be bonding them. Mine leave noticeable gaps to the dash, I guess because they're square vs rounded dash and the passenger one is also quite loose i.e. if I move the pipe behind, it easily pops out. Thanks.

I have a set of these still in the packet because I couldn't make them look anything other than rubbish.

Personally not that impressed.

I've had limited luck with these by padding them out with foam and duct tape at the back - if you get the size and spacing right it will hold it in and pull it tighter against the dash. I also tried cutting out some of the foam padding in the dash surrounding it, all seems to help but still far from looking like original equipment.
