Sorry engine mounts

May as well do them as the manifolds are off

One was, the other was black



Less than 500 miles on those.

No idea, I get it picked up from the house and it comes back fixed well most the time

So, how many years ago were the melted pics taken? And is it a fair representation to post them in this thread now if as ancient as I suspect they are?

I would speak to sc power. I had there old mounts for over 2 years and mine did the same that was a first gen mount. They swapped mine over to there new spec.

Bit unfair posting pics giving people the impression there bad when that's an old product now.

I would remove the pics and speak to them

SC power have updated the the rubber since those mounts so that's no longer an issue.

But it is in keeping on how TVR used used to run their business thoroughly testing their cars before selling them to the general public. There idea of testing a new car was a quick blast along amounderness way in cleveleys. . I have only heard good things coming from SC power products, but no company is 100% perfect look at ferrari for instance you would be cooking if you sat in one of their new products.

This, I also had failures on 2 cars but they dealt with the matter swiftly and in a professional manner, the latest material is free from this problem, I have restraints too.

Pictures are just over two years I think , the mounts were new and only fitted for around 500 miles hardly ancient.

Not sure why you think they shouldn't be posted...

They came from SC power FACT, they were only on the car for 500 miles FACT, they show the quality of the mounts supplied at the time FACT.

I didn't deal with the company in question, they were fitted by the company who service my car (very well know dealer) and replaced by the same dealer (not with the same mounts).

If they have changed them now fantastic, but at the time these were what they sent out.

That time scale sounds about right, they have been revised now and should be reliable, those pics are the early style/material.

The restraints limit the movement so the engine mounts last longer . I would just buy standard OE engine mounts and fit the restraints .

Most of the engines in the Chimaera are at a "higher state of tune" so the engine will move more .

You cant use restraints with those poly mounts they are by design restrained by that outer steel shell that the poly is molded into the restraints are for the OE style rubber mounts use the poly buttoned metal restraints if you have pattern and the plain all metal restraints if you have OE/Original (bumps on the ends)
