sticky lifter/tappet

May have a sticky lifter, going to try wynns lifter treatment first of all. Is it causing major damage? Should I not drive the car?

Depends, how noisy is it?

Are you sure it's not an exhaust manifold blow?

If it is a lifter, (and I believe that's rare) I wouldn't do many miles.

Was the car left unused for a long period?

I thought i had a small end failure this morning after a 5 week period of non use but it cleared after about 3 minutes so probably just a drained down tappet, all fine since, bit surprised as I only replaced cam, followers etc approx 12 months ago, hope this may be of some help, John

Hi Matt. I have been reading your thread on the TVRCC forum. If there is someone local to you that could go round and have a look and listen that would be helpful.
