Front drop link removal help please
Discussion
Evening all.
I'm tending to my chassis and whilst on the front corner noticed the track rod end was poorly, and the drop links looked knackered as well.
I've got the track rod off ok, along with the nut on the anti roll bar end, but the nut attached to the wishbone side is causing me problems.
I moved it about 2 rotations but now it's locked solid.
I've driven down a spanner on to the inner lugs, but the force from the socket pushes the spanner off (at quite a force!).
I'm in my own garage, so no power tools, just spanners, sockets ect.
Can anyone offer any advice or tricks they've used to either break the bloody thing off or anything else??
Thanks,
Russell.

The end attached to that bracket on lower wishbone?

Short of stripping a lot of bits off to get better access I'd look at buying, borrowing or hiring one of these before you .....
A. waste a lot of time
B. damage something
C. damage yourself

Agreed, I've just measured up and I can get a grinder in there so I'll get a metal currying disc in the next couple of days and then play A team! Short of stripping a lot of bits off to get better access I'd look at buying, borrowing or hiring one of these before you .....
