Mirrors don't move

I am having another niggle with Chim (96 400HC). Have a discovered that the mirrors don't move. Neither left nor right mirrors in any direction.
Took the door apart this morning (not as bad as everyone suggests but still fiddly). All connectors were properly connected. Disconnected each - all connections look clean with no corrosion. Took the connector of the back of the joystick. Checked across the green and black wires of the connector (looking at the bible this looks like power supply and ground). There was no voltage across the pins. Also when checked there was a resisitance of 4.7 ohms across these pins.
The fuse should be OK. According to the bible the fuse is also used for the boot release which works. I am out of ideas. Are there any experts out there who can give some more suggestions. For reference I have a relay inthe door so I think I have the system without the control box. All help greatly appreciated.
