Speedo repair.

Ive not had a working sppedo for a while and i am assuming the transducer is damaged due to hitting the toothed wheel on the diff.
Is there a way i can test this or shall i just fork out £80ish for a replacement?

I can't describe it myself, but two people looked at mine and both said immediately; it's been touching, you need a new one.
From that I assume the damage must be fairly obvious when it's occurred?

The transducers do sometimes just stop working, even if the gap is correctly adjusted - mine did, while the car was still under the dealer's warranty. Mat fitted a new one and all was well again.

another addition to the ever increasing shopping list for 2015 then.

Will be great to be able to film the speedo on a few drag runs again tho.
