Does anyone have info on this car? Apparently it used to be driven by Teds wife more than him?

Very quick reply from Ted, who highlighted one concern:
"The only thing that might be of concern is that it drinks a fair bit of oil. Whether it's more or less than other Chimaeras I'm not sure. We certainly had to chuck a litre or so in each month. That said, neither David Batty nor Top Cats have ever commented that this should be a concern nor noted any other symptoms of anything. Might be worth checking out though - just as you would with any car hopefully."
Any comments on this? Is it usual? What are possible problems?

If Ted did about a 1000 miles per month then that's all ok .. not great by modern car standards, but it's typical for a 5 litre, and even 4 iltres drink a bit of oil sometimes, so this being a *somewhere in the middle* 450 you'd expect it to drink some oil, but they all vary anyway.
.. but what the hell .. the car looks stunning and it's a bargain price from a reputable source with a known history so buy it anyway.

Oi - that's because it was my car ... which I used daily. I must update my profile now.
Glad you like it - I had loads of fun in him and only saw about two others in that colour.
Great to see he's gone to a good home.

Sorry Alison, my mistake.
The cars great, I have been making all sorts of ridiculous excusese just to go out for a drive. 12 days of ownership - 850 miles, I'm going to have to ease off a touch or I'll reach my 10k mileage limit by July.
The exhaust sounds great by the way, what work did you actually have done?

Glad you're having fun. I was the same when I got it but being June, there was always somewhere to go.
If you look at my profile you'll see all the work that was done on it. I only had the central silencers removed (by David Batty nr Guildford).
All in all it was a fantastc car that took me to and from work every day with no problems ..... and the odd trip up to Scotland.
Are you going to the Virginia Water PH meet on Sunday? Last time I went my old S was there. It's great but odd to see a car you used to own. Luckily he was replaced by another TVR to maintain the grin factor.
